New Complex Social Security Program Approved

Today the regional council voted for the complex public social security program for Kharkiv region. The new program is designed for 2021-2025 and requires the funding of 479 m 600 thousand hryvnias, i.e. 95 million 920 thousand hryvnias annually.
“Since the complex public social security program of Kharkiv region for 2016-2020 is expiring, to ensure the continuity of social payments, guaranteed by law, there was a need to develop and approve a new program for 2021-2025”, said Serhii Chernov, emphasizing that it was necessary to exclude all irrelevant activities from the draft of the new program, but all the guaranteed social payments from the regional budget were preserved.
In particular:
- provision of one-time target financial support (upon request) from the program funds in the amount of UAH 55 million annually;
- provision of target financial support to the anniversary of Chornobyl tragedy to the persons who were affected by Charnobyl catastrophe – UAH 1.1 million annually;
- payments to military widows, whose spouses died during mass protests in Kyiv – UAH 150 thousand annually;
- provision of one-time financial support to the Victory Day (May 9th) to the veterans who participated in World War II, 1939-1945, – UAH 800 thousand annually;
- provision of one-time financial support (10 thousand hryvnias) to the members of families of combatants who took part in the anti-terrorist operation to the Ukrainian Defender Memory Day (August 29th) – UAH 2 million annually;
- compensation for funeral costs of combatants and persons who became disabled due to the war – UAH 3 million annually;
- organization of rehabilitation and recreation for specified categories of citizens – UAH 31.4 million annually;
- organization of escorting for the children who need special social care and support, for recreation at the facilities of "Artek", "Moloda Guardia" – UAH 196 thousand annually;
- provision of financial support to civil society organizations (competition) – UAH 2 million annually.
